Q: Does Sorrento Valley Automotive work on/service hybrids?

A: Yes we do. We can maintain your vehicle according to the manufacturers' recommendations. However, your hybrid comes with a significantly broader warranty than a normal car to cover the drivetrain/electrical systems, so it is possible that some things may be included from the dealer under that warranty.

Q:I have looked up diagnostic info online for free. Why is it that you charge for the same thing?

A: You get what you pay for. We have access to all manufacturer information as well as multiple sources of "aftermaket" supplied info ie. Mitchell1, Alldata. We also have all of the latest diagnostic equipment and training. You can rest assured that when a repair is properly diagnosed, you will save money in the long run by not "throwing parts" at a problem. This is a very common occurrence with "forum" based advice, which has neither reliability or a warranty.

Q: Do you carry accounts?

A: Unfortunately, we cannot at this time. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover as well as all Debit Check cards at time of pickup.

Q: Does your facility accommodate fleet accounts or off site repair?

A: We can accommodate our customers as best as we can. We cannot give preferential treatment ( ie. pricing or scheduling ) to fleet accounts, although there are plenty of shops that are more equipped to do this than we are. Our facility is set up for on site repair only.

Q: What is Sorrento Valley Automotive doing by way of going "green"?

A: We have been at the forefront of technology in this arena for our industry.

1. We recycle approximately 95% of metal waste ( cast iron, steel, aluminum, brass, etc.) ; 90% of paper waste ( corrugated cardboard and various other paper/cellulose based products ) ; 100% of automotive batteries.

2. All waste fluids are recycled: all oils, brake fluid, coolant, fuel.

3. We have had a clarifier tank installed since '97 to catch and recycle any runoff associated with washing/pressure washing of vehicles.

4. We are 100% compliant with all California Air Resource Board standards. All aerosols are CA VOC compliant. We use: aqueous based bioremediating cleaners, silicone based solvent, and biodegradable soaps ( hot tank/ floor cleaner) where applicable.

5. All of the lighting in the shop is compact flouresent, as opposed to mercury vapor/ metal halide lighting. This has resulted in a 70% energy savings just in lighting alone.
